Duplicate Poker Review Duplicate Poker Review
Duplicate Poker closed yesterday. Unfortunately, the one online poker outlet that was excluded from the UIGEA because it was classified as a game of skill rather than one of luck, will no longer be available for play. But US players can play freely at any of the other poker rooms listed on our site. Please try one of the other poker bonuses, as Duplicate Poker and Duplicate Poker Bonuses are no more.
The DuplicatePoker.com homepage states, “Duplicate Poker is legally certified as a ‘Game of Skill,’ rather than gambling.” Duplicate Poker was started by championship bridge player, Pinhas Romik. After the success of Duplicate Bridge, Duplicate Poker became popular. The site hopes to establish Duplicate Poker as a Recognized Sport Organization, like Duplicate Bridge achieved in 1995. See our explanation of the game of Duplicate Poker for more information on how the game is played-it’s not your usual Texas Hold ‘em; in fact, it’s completely different.

The Duplicate Poker Leaderboard guarantees $4500 in cash prizes every month. While Duplicate Poker is still interesting to read about, DuplicatePoker.com is no longer in business. While the unique game of duplicate poker is no more, any of the poker sites suggested for play on NewDepositBonus.com are friendly to US players.
What is Duplicate Poker?
OK. Duplicate Poker is a form of poker that is completely legal in the United States. It is Duplicate Poker. There is a full review of this site available. This post will serve to explain the game, which is unlike poker as you know it, which is why it’s completely legal.
First of all, we’ll explain how and why it’s legal. Duplicate Poker is considered a strategy game (like chess), not a gambling game. Therefore, there is a very big following for Duplicate that consists of strategy gamers, who happen to be playing poker. The site operates just like any other poker site; it is, however, “the ONLY legal US poker room!”
Now, we’ll explain how Duplicate is like regular poker and how it is entirely different.
Similarities:
In Pot Limit and No Limit Texas Hold ‘em, which are the games that are involved in Duplicate Poker, players are dealt two hole cards, and five community cards (the flop, the turn, the river) that are shared among all players that are dealt a hand. Whoever makes the best hand, using any combination of their hole cards and the community cards, wins the pot. These rules are the exact same in Duplicate Poker. The betting structure, including blinds and betting rounds, are all the same as in regular poker.
Differences:
What makes Duplicate Poker a completely different game is that where ever there is one active table of Texas Hold ‘em being played, there is at least one other table in existence, with the same number of players being dealt identical hole cards from an identical deck in the same seat positions, hence the “duplicate.” It’s like a twin game going on in parallel universe, and it gets even stranger…
At the onset of every session (a set number of deals) dealt, every player’s chip stack is reset, so every player has the same betting opportunity. This evens the playing field for every hand-a big difference from regular poker. Each hand then has a capped betting limit that players are allowed to bet.
Finally, at the end of the game or session, the player with the most chips, compared with his “twin(s)” (in the same seat position(s)) at the other table(s), wins the hand.
This whole process eliminates luck from the mix. There are no more “bad beats,” and ultimately, it becomes a game of skill rather than a game of skill and luck, and your overall game improves. If nothing else, it can be a great way to train and sharpen your skills and knowledge of strategy, but I won’t call it “practice” because people take this game very seriously, just as seriously as regular poker, in fact.
Now that you understand, here are some of the game options available at DuplicatePoker.com:
“Short” games: At the end of each 2-3 sessions, half of the players in a given seat positions are eliminated.
Round Robin: A 6-player Sit & Go, in which everyone alternately plays heads-up against everyone else.
